Condolence Message of Ayatullah Sayyid Mujtaba Nur Mufidi on the Occasion of the Martyrdom of the Honorable President and His Entourage

In the Name of Allah, the All-Beneficent, the All-Merciful

“Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.”

The tragic helicopter crash during service to the people, which led to the martyrdom of Ayatullah Mr. Raisi and a group of servants of the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran, evoked a wave of grief and sorrow in the hearts of all Muslim nations, particularly the beloved people of Iran.

Undoubtedly, the nobility, modesty and humility, inner purity, and devotion of that martyr to the Household of the Prophet (peace be upon them)—especially Imam ‘Ali ibn Musa al-Rida (peace be upon him)—and his love and affection for the people to the extent that he considered himself a servant of the people, will never be forgotten. Meeting God while serving the people, and that too on the eve of the birth anniversary of the Compassionate Imam (peace be upon him), was a bliss that could not have been attained except through divine grace and the sincerity of that departed soul.

I extend my condolences on the martyrdom of this dear figure and his entourage—including Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Al-e Hashem, the esteemed Friday Prayer Leader of Tabriz, Dr. Amir-Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Governor of East Azerbaijan—to the presence of Hazrat Vali-e Asr (may Allah hasten his reappearance), the Supreme Leader (may his long shadow endure), the Grand Marja’s (sources of emulation), the general public of the Iranian nation, and the surviving families of the martyrs. On this blessed day, I beseech Almighty God for the elevation of ranks and resurrection with ‘Ali ibn Musa al-Rida (peace be upon him) for the esteemed martyrs, and patience and divine reward for the surviving families; and I prostrate in gratitude for the unmatched blessing of the presence of the Supreme Leader in these sensitive circumstances.
