Signing of a Scientific and Jurisprudential Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding Between the Representative Office of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the International Islamic Fiqh Academy and the Research Institute for Contemporary Jurisprudence

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for scientific, research, and jurisprudential cooperation was signed between the Representative Office of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the International Islamic Fiqh Academy and the Research Institute for Contemporary Jurisprudence. This memorandum was concluded between these two prominent jurisprudential institutions with the aim of strengthening the current of ijtihad and contemporary jurisprudence, developing jurisprudential research in the domain of emerging issues, deepening contemporary jurisprudential studies, and expanding scientific interactions in the realm of systems jurisprudence (fiqh al-nidham).

This agreement materialized with the signatures of Ayatullah Ahmad Moblaghi, Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, and Ayatullah Sayyid Mujtaba Nur Mufidi, President of the Research Institute for Contemporary Jurisprudence, emphasizing the synergy of scientific and research capacities between the two institutions.

According to this memorandum, cooperation will be pursued across three main axes: organizing joint academic seminars and chairs; executing research projects in fields such as comparative jurisprudence (fiqh-e tatbiqi) and the jurisprudence of social, economic, and legal systems; and reciprocal utilization of scientific, library, and research capacities of the two organizations.

This memorandum is assessed as an effective step toward deepening contemporary jurisprudential studies and strengthening the production of jurisprudential knowledge tailored to the needs of the Islamic world.
