In this meeting, Ayatullah Sayyid Mujtaba Nur Mufidi, while expressing appreciation for the Supreme Leader’s kindness, besought Almighty God for the complete victory of the combatants, as well as the good health, well-being, and ever-increasing success of His Eminence.

Ayatullah Nur Mufidi: The Origin of the People’s Unparalleled Resistance Is the Cultivation by Revolution Leaders, Divine Assistance, and Increased Public Awareness

In a conversation with the Seminary and Clergy correspondent of Tasnim News Agency, Ayatullah Sayyid Mujtaba Nur Mufidi, President of the Research Institute for Contemporary Jurisprudence, addressed the origin of the people’s steadfastness and presence on the scene in the current period and its historical precedent, stating: That Imam Khomeini stated that the people of our era are better than the people of the era of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) was not an unbacked claim made for propaganda, but a reality that the Imam—as a religious source of emulation (Marja’), prominent Islamic expert, and informed observer—had witnessed firsthand, having felt the people’s accompaniment in overthrowing the monarchical regime and subsequently facing all risks and threats.

He noted: In early Islam we also witness examples of people accompanying the Imam of society, yet this level of comprehensiveness and universality in the spirit of self-sacrifice, devotion, patience, and resistance holds no precedent in any era like the present. That people, despite all livelihood difficulties, discriminations, unkindnesses, and physical and psychological damage inflicted by the enemy, stand firm alongside the front of truth is peerless.

Origin of the People’s Resistance: Cultivation by Revolution Leaders, Divine Assistance, and Increased Public Awareness

Explaining the factors behind this unparalleled endurance, the Professor of Advanced Classes at the Islamic Seminary of Qom pointed to the crucial role of the martyred Leader in cultivating the people, noting: The two Imams of the Revolution as well as our dear third Leader, serving as educators and guides, consistently addressed the people while practically taking the lead in enduring difficulties. This conduct created public trust and elevated their understanding, insight (basirah), and diagnosis.

Ayatullah Nur Mufidi identified divine grace and assistance (nusrat) as the second effective factor in the Iranian nation’s historical steadfastness, adding: When God sees a people standing firm in the path of truth, He encompasses them in His assistance and confirmation, yielding foresight and power of diagnosis. God leads the people step by step like a guide, precisely at the height of perplexity and wandering.

The President of the Research Institute for Contemporary Jurisprudence identified increased public awareness regarding the nature of aggressors as another effective factor in their steadfastness, stating: In recent events in the country, we witnessed that despite seductive claims by the US President and the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime promising freedom, security, and welfare, virtually no one except a small number trusted them, because the canvas of enemy crimes sits placed before the eyes of Iran and the world more than ever, laying bare the depth of their deceit and trickery. Thus, they resist intelligently and back the military and diplomatic battle.

The Clergy: The Connecting Link Among Various Social Layers

Regarding the present ceasefire, he noted: As the Supreme Leader also stated, up to this point our victory is undeniable; not only has the enemy failed to achieve any of its goals, but new positions have been created for the Islamic Republic of Iran that the enemy could not even imagine.

While appreciating the presence, patience, and insight of the people alongside military and law enforcement forces, Ayatullah Nur Mufidi attributed this resistance to preserving the central pillar of the tent of the Revolution, stating: The initiating cause (‘illat muhdisah) of the Revolution is likewise its sustaining cause (‘illat mubqiyah). We bear a duty to preserve the central pillar of the tent of the system and the Islamic Revolution—the Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist (Wilayat al-Faqih)—through verbal and practical compliance, cohesion of military and law enforcement forces, national unity, and avoiding division.

Referring to the necessity of preserving unity and cohesion, the Professor of Advanced Classes at the Islamic Seminary of Qom emphasized: Whether these negotiations reach a result or not, neither will the enemy leave us alone, nor will we leave the enemy alone. That is, its conspiracies and harassments will manifest in various forms, one being sowing division. In the midst of this, the clergy’s duty is to serve as always with broad-mindedness, ethics, and gentleness (rifq) as the connecting link between various social layers, keeping its arms open to all people so that the tent of the Revolution expands.

He described the clergy as the unifier linking the people, governance, and leadership, adding: While maintaining our caution and vigilance against the trickery of the deceitful enemy, we trust our officials who over these nearly fifty days managed affairs in the best manner. They too are aware of our concerns and those of the leadership; therefore, through strong presence in the arena, we must hearten the field and officials.

Division, Despair, and Pessimism: The Enemy’s Primary Weapons

Emphasizing that the final decision rests with the Supreme Leader and no room exists for individual ijtihad or expressing personal opinions—even if sympathetic—contrary to his view and the country’s general interests, Ayatullah Nur Mufidi reminded: Sowing division, despair, and pessimism constitutes the enemy’s primary weapon under these conditions, against which one must remain vigilant and watchful.

The President of the Research Institute for Contemporary Jurisprudence emphasized: One vital task for the seminary and the clergy is responding to current doubts using refined, modern language while considering all dimensions. Through precise expert assessment, we must identify different layers and levels of society and doubts at each level, selecting appropriate language suited to each level for answering; otherwise, inappropriate language might itself become the source of new doubts.
